The real gift of gratitude is the more grateful you are, the more present you become.
Well I always think if you are going to tell a story its best to start at the beginning.
The beginning for me and my nomadic lifestyle was Salisbury Rhodesia now known as Harare Zimbabwe, my father was a diplomat with the United Nations and went by the very fancy title of "Chief of mission for the inter governmental committee for european migration" wow what a mouthful!
My father headed an organisation within the United Nations that was responsible for re-settling thousands of refugees after the second world war.
My Father (left) with Harold Holt Prime Minister of Australia.
Me with my Nanny Rachael Zimbabwe 1958
So began a lifetime of travel and adventure.
The Actual DC 7B that I did my first international flight in at the age of 7 months.
It blows me away at how easy travel is now in comparison to 30-40 years ago.
Air travel has become cheap and within the reach of most people, so the planet has shrunk. This is great and means there are a lot of countries that now have booming tourist industries.
The downside I guess is that it is not so glamorous to travel anymore and not quite the adventure it once was.
Being presented with my first solo certificate and my wings after gaining my pilots lic 1992
Below is the Certificate I was presented with on that first flight for my first time crossing the equator.
Don't sleep in the open Lions and Hyena's will eat you! LOL!
